Two days relay hunger strike ended successfully in Hyderabad

The two days relay hunger-strike protest launched by the regional tibetan youth congress, hyderabad here demanding the unconditional realease of Tulku Tenzin Delek was concluded successfully at 5.00 p.m on 25th Nov at Indra park. The protest was organised on 24th and 25th Nov from 10.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m on both days and it was joined by all the Tibetan sweater sellers in the twin cities(Hyderabad-Secunderabad) and the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Vijayawada. The friends of Tibet, Hyderabad chapter also contributed in the strike.

DAY-1
The day started with a function in the morning at 10.00a.m. the chairman of A.P tourism development corporation, Sri.C.Anjaneya Reddy, the special invitee for the function,addressed to a public of nearly 200 that took part in the sit-in strike and showed his solidarity with the plight of Tulku Tenzin Delek and expressed conviction for his ultimate release. The Presidents of the RTYC,Hyderabad and Vijayawada and the head of Tibetan sweater-sellers gave speech regarding the aims and demands of the relay hunger strike. The press and T.V persons attended as the function progressed and the news of our hunger strike was covered in almost all the leading and local newspapers the next day. The lighting of the prayer lamp to H.H the Dalai Lama by Sri.C.Anjaneya Reddy marked the beginning of the 2 days relay hunger strike.

As soon as the chief guest left the venue at noon, the participants started prayers which lasted till 1.00 p.m. After that, the participants spend the time seeing the Tibetan movies about the atrocities committed by the Chinese in Tibet and many pedestrians also joined to see the movies.

Mr.Tenzin Lodoe, the president RTYC Hyderabad, in his interview to T.V news persons, spoke about the demands of the hunger-strike.

The day one of the relay hunger strike was concluded at 5.00p.m successfully.

DAY-2
On the second and the last day of the hunger strike,the participants began the fast at 10.00a.m. with a brief prayer. Soon after the prayer, the participants started collecting signatures of the local people whom, after knowing about the unjust decision taken by the chinese government to execute Tulku Tenzin Delek, volunteered to register their protest in the e-campaign. Two north-eastern girls sat in the hunger strike on both days.

On the second day, the press persons came to cover the news of our strike. At 3.00 the participants started prayer for the safe release of Tulku Tenzin Delek.

At 4.30p.m, Dr.M.N Rajesh, a professor in Hyderabad central university and a member of friends of Tibet, arrived for the closing ceremony of the 2 day relay hunger strike. In his speech to the public, he expressed his appreciation for the different activities organised all over India for the release of Tulku Tenzin Delek. He applauded all the participants for sitting in the hunger strike.

The day two and the last day of the relay hunger strike concluded with Dr. M.N Rajesh taking the first sip of the tea thereafter served to all the participants.

Hence the 2 days relay hunger strike organised by RTYC, Hyderabad ended quite successfully with co-operation and contribution from friends of Tibet, RTYC(Vijayawada) and the Tibetan sweater seller union in the twin cities.
