Former Defence Minister Mr. George Fernandes speaks of “Assurance”
On the final day of the hunger strike in Delhi, the former Defense Minister of India, Mr. George Fernendes visited the hunger strikers to show his indepth solidarity and concern for the release of Tulku Tenzin Delek. While addressing the gathering he stated, “ Few days back I had an unofficial meeting with some of the high level Chinese dignitaries and when I raised the case of Tulku Tenzin Delek, they assured me that Tulku Tenzin Delek’s sentenced to death will not be carried out.” He further assured Tibetans “not to worry about the Tulku’s imminent execution by the chinese government but you should always continue with your struggle and I firmly believe that Tulku will be released soon.” In his conclusion remark he stated that he appreciate and believe in the youth initiatives as is done by Tibetan Youth Congress.
