DHARAMSHALA, August 30: Finance Minister (Kalon) Karma Yeshi of Central Tibetan Administration said that more women business owners must come forward for a wholesome growth of the community. The minister was speaking at the third edition of Tibetan Entrepreneurs’ conference which kicked off today at the Nyatri hall in Ghangchen Kyishong.
Organized by the Tibetan Entrepreneurship Development (TED) initiative, the two-day conference is participated by around 70 Tibetan entrepreneurs and
businessmen at the Nyatri hall in Gangchen Kyishong.
Noting the small number of women in today’s gathering, Kalon Karma Yeshi said, “I am not criticizing the lack of women participants but I want to take this opportunity to call more women in the future programs. Government policies alone will not be effective without women taking advantage of them. Hence, it is a collective responsibility of the community.”
The Kalon in his speech also asked the Tibetans to draw inspiration from the Parsi and Jew communities, who despite a minimal population have enjoyed huge success in the world of business.
Of the ten contestants – Gyurme Tenzin of i-lab Coaching Center; Tamding Kyab of Dachompa Tech LLP; Lobsang Tashi of TAC Enterprise; Nyima Gylatsen of Dairy Farm; Tsering Dolma of Thari Tailoring and Ngawang Lodoe of Drawu Mushroom have been selected for the final selection tomorrow.
