DHARAMSHALA/GAYA, DEC. 28: Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived this afternoon in Bodhgaya for the 34th Kalachakra Initiation to be held from Jan. 2 to Jan. 14, 2016. The Tibetan leader was received at Lok Prakash Narayan airport by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, who accompanied the Tibetan leader to Buddha Smriti Park in the state capital.

The Dalai Lama and CM Nitish Kumar took part in a tree-planting program at the Buddha Smriti Park where His Holiness also conducted a special prayer.

Addressing the media, the exiled Tibetan leader said that his relation with India is that of a master and a disciple and that everyone could learn a lot from the teachings of ancient Indian masters.

Hundreds of devotees including Tibetans, Buddhists from Himalaya regions, and foreigners stood on the route leading to the main monastery near the teaching ground to welcome the 81 year old Buddhist master.

Organized by the Tibetan government in Exile, this would be the 34th Kalachakra puja. Ladakh in 2014 hosted the last teachings and the first Kalachakra initiation was held in Norbulingka in Tibet in 1954.
