DHARAMSHALA, October 19: His Holiness the Dalai Lama will bestow the 2016 Swarajya Awards on November 5 in Goa, announced the official website of the Swarajya magazine, Swarajyamag.com.
According to the announcement, the exiled spiritual leader will ‘confer the second Swarajya-Indic Academy Awards at a special ceremony during the India Ideas Conclave in Goa.
In association with India Foundation and Indic Academy, the Swarajya Awards celebrates individuals and institution doing ‘stellar work in various walks of life’.
Along with it, the organizers will be awarding individuals and institution in four other categories: Dr. BR Shenoy Award for Economics; the Dr. SP Mukherjee Award for Politics; Ustad Bismillah Khan Award for Culture; and the Sree Narayana Guru Award for Social Work.
The names of the winners will be announced during the conclave and will be presented with a trophy and cash prize of one lakh each.
