Dalai Lama leaves for Europe visit

DHARAMSHALA, Sept 6: The Tibetan leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama left Dharamshala for a two week schedule in Europe that will include itinerary in Belgium, France and Poland over the course of the month.

The Nobel laureate will inaugurate the 7th Tibet Support Group Conference at St. Louis University in Belgium on Sept. 8 and attend the two day (9-11 September) Mind and Life Conference at the Bozar Centre where he will give a public talk on “Individual Engagement and Global Responsibility”. The Tibetan leader will also meet and give a public talk to Tibetans living there.

His Holiness will give a public talk on ‘The Need to Preserve Tibetan Language Civilization’ at INALCO in Paris and also speak to the Tibetans living in the French capital.

The Dalai Lama will also have events (September 15-19) in the largest city of the Grand Est region of France, Strasbourg where he is scheduled to visit the European Parliament. He will also address students at an event organized by the Mayor of Strasbourg and attend the Body & Mind Conference there.

For the last two days in Strasbourg, His Holiness will give a one-day teaching on Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Bodhicitta (jangchup semdrel) and confer an Avalokiteshvera Initiation (chenresig wang)organized by the Federation of Tibetan Buddhism. The Tibetan leader will leave for Poland on Sept. 19.
