DHARAMSHALA, June 30: The Tibetan actor who shot to limelight for his leading role in Eric Valli’s Himalaya has died in a road accident in Labrang on Wednesday.
Gurgon Kyab, who acted in movies like Himalaya (1999) and Loup (2009) died after the motorcycle he was riding hit another vehicle at a high altitude road near Labrang.
Tibetan actor who lived in Paris for many years and moved to New York four years ago was also a vocal activist for the Tibetan cause. He had gone to Tibet a month ago.
Kyap was born in Khasag village, Kanlho Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the year 1971. He was 45 years old.
