Visiting Chilean MP vows to form Parliamentarian group on Tibet

DHARAMSHALA, Dec. 3: Chilean Member of Parliament Vlado Mirosevic and Friends of Tibet, Chile member Fernando Salinas visited Dharamshala for a five day visit to meet with the Dalai Lama and observe the exile government and the Tibetan refugee community.

The two visiting dignitaries arrived last Sunday and will conclude their visit by Dec. 4. Chilean MP Vlado Mirosevic told VOT that they met with the Dalai Lama and presented him with their willingness to form a parliamentarian group on Tibet in Chile. “It was a very joyful to meet with the Dalai Lama. His ideals are not reserved for the Tibetans only but everyone in this world. I am especially touched by his message of non-violence, warm-heartedness and compassion towards all fellow human beings” said Mirosevic, the founder and current national president of the Liberal party of Chile.

The two are in Dharamshala to get first hand observation of the exile government, its various departments and the leadership in order to gather information on the current situation inside Tibet and the CTA’s ‘Middle Way Policy’.

Friends of Tibet’s Chile chapter member Fernando Salinas while elaborating on his first visit to the virtual capital of exile community said, “The experience to meet with the Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Karmapa, the exile leaders and the exile government is very special. It is commendable that the Tibetan struggle is non-violent and that success will eventually be achieved if the struggle doesn’t deviate from the righteous path”.

“After going back, we will further the issue of Tibet and what we have learned here with politicians and prominent personalities and work to form a parliamentarian group on Tibet in Chile” he added.

The two Chilean dignitaries met with Sikyong Lobsang Sangay and TPiE Speaker Penpa Tsering and visited the Central Tibetan Administration, Norbulingka Institute, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Mentsekhang, Dolmaling nunnery and Tibetan Children Village in the last five days.
