DHARAMSHALA, July 15: Ten Tibetan activists representing Students for a Free Tibet India, RTYC Delhi and GuChuSum were arrested yesterday after they stormed the Chinese Embassy premises to protest the mysterious death of Tulku Tenzin Delek in a Chinese prison last Sunday.
The activists, carrying the Tibetan national flag and posters of the late Buddhist master, shouted slogans condemning China for not handing over the body of Tulku to his family, represented by his sister Nyima
Within minutes into their direct action the activists were rounded up in a waiting bus and driven to Chanakyapuri Police Station where they were detained till late last night and released.
Meanwhile, Tulku’s sister and niece are reportedly missing after they were taken away from a restaurant in Lithang to Chengdu. Sources said Tulku’s sister has refused to strike any kind of compromise with the Chinese authorities and demanded probe into her brother’s death.
Relatives and family members who were able to attend the cremation under tight security later said that the 65 year old Buddhist master might have been poisoned.
