DHARAMSHALA, May 8: A Tibetan man has been shot at by an unidentified person this morning near the Tibetan Reception Centre, a transit home for Tibetan refugees set up by the Tibetan government in exile here.
Wangchuk, a staff of the Reception Centre, was shot around 4AM this morning, according to Kunga Tashi, the spokesperson for the Department of Security.
“This morning around 4AM, a Tibetan working at Tibetan Reception Centre was shot on his shoulder by an unidentified person. As soon as we were informed about the incident we took him to the hospital and informed the police”, said Kunga
Wangchuk is currently being treated at PGI Hospital, Chandigarh, and reportedly out of danger.
Kunga further noted that the local Police are investigating the incident. However, there is currently no information on the culprit and the motive for the assault.
In another incident, a Tibetan youth was found dead in an abandoned house on Bhagsu road on Wednesday. Police are also investigating the case.
