Monk arrested for lone protest in Sershul

DHARAMSHALA, November 26: A Tibetan monk was arrested earlier today after a lone protest he carried out around 3:50PM (local time).

The monk belonged to the Mangey Monastery in Sershul County, Kardze prefecture. The image sent from Tibet shows him carrying a hand made placard. He is said to have shouted slogans like “Long live the Dalai Lama”.

Twenty-year-old Thapgay, a monk from Mangey monastery, last year carried out a lone protest calling for the return of the Dalai Lama.
