13 yr old boy dies 6 days after electrocution

DHARAMSHALA, August 29: A 13 year old Tibetan boy studying in Lower TCV School passed away this morning at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College Hospital where he was being treated for burn injuries sustained in a shocking accident on Saturday around 4 PM.

Sangay Jangchub of Home no. 8 was surfing the Internet on Saturday afternoon when the foster father of his home said he must join the rest of the kids for evening stroll outside the school near Darnoo village on Khanyara road.

Eyewitnesses said that Sangay had finished eating something at a tea stall nearby, and he tried to empty the steel plate by throwing the leftover liquid on live electric wires accidentally. He was thrown several feet away from where he was standing, and smoke appeared out of his body, a reliable source said.

Sangay was immediately rushed to the Zonal Hospital from where he was rushed to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College Hospital, Tanda.

He reportedly sustained 48 percent burn.
