DHARAMSHALA, JUNE 12: A Tibetan monk from Koetsa village in Serta County in Kardze has been released earlier today from a Chinese detention centre in Minyak, a reliable source said.

Ghangbhu Yudruk was first arrested in 2008 during the nationwide protests against the Chinese government. Ghangbhu carried out a solitary protest carrying the banned Tibetan national flag and shouting slogans for the return of the Tibetan leader Dalai Lama to Tibet, self rule for Tibet and release of Panchen Lama. He was detained in 2008 and released in February 2011.

However, he was arrested again in May 2012 for carrying out various anti government protests as a member of an organization called “Margol Donglen Tsokpa” (Organization to tackle Communist repression).

Ghangbhu will be arriving at his native village of Koetsa in Serta County tomorrow.
