DHARAMSHALA, September 21: One more Tibetan girl has clinched gold in Women’s 63kg wrestling event at the 12th National Games of China held in Shenyang city from August 31 to September 12.
Shelok Dolma, 26-year-old from Kongpo Nyingtri won a gold medal in Women’s 63kg wrestling on September 8 becoming the first person from Tibet to win the title.
In 2011, Shelok had won gold for China in the Women’s Freestyle Wrestling 67 kg class at the World Wrestling Championship in Istanbul, Turkey.
In 2010, she was selected for the national wrestling competition and also participated in Women’s 67kg World Wrestling competition in Turkey.
Born to a humble family, Shelok was selected into the Chinese national wrestling team in 2010.
Tsomo Kyi, 21-year-old Tibetan girl has also won a gold medal in the national games setting a new record of 31 minutes and 55 seconds in 10,000 metre race at the same event. She also won a silver medal in 5000 metre race.
