Tsering Youdon sworn in as Domey MP

DHARAMSHALA, October 16: Tsering Youdon took oath of office as a member of the 15th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile from the Domey region last Wednesday.

As per the Charter of the Tibetans in exile, Tsering Youdon, a former parliamentarian was sworn in as the 10th Domey representative, a seat which became vacant following the demise of Gyarong Dawa Tsering, late September.

Youdon had secured the stipulated 33 percent of votes during the last general elections in March.

Youdon took the oath of office in front of the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile at a ceremony attended by members of the standing committee of the parliament.

Tsering Youdon was a member of the 14th Tibetan Parliament and has a record of serving the Tibetan community in various capacities since 1983.

With the swearing in of Tsering Youdon, the 15th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile is now in its full strength of 44 members.
