Dharamsala, July 18 – Two people are confirmed dead, 24 feared missing and twelve others injured after a bus they were traveling in fell into a river in Tibet’s Ngaba region Sunday, China’s State Run Xinhua said.
The bus registered in Ngaba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture crashed into the Dajin River in Rongchag County, Kardze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at 10:15 a.m., accrding to the Kardze emergency response center.
The injured have been admitted to Rongchag County People’s Hospital and are reportedly in stable conditions.
The bus was heading to Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province, from Ngaba prefecture’s Maerkang County.
The passengers included three children.
Owned by the Minjiang Transport Company, the bus took a detour to Garze because the highway connecting Maerkang and Chengdu was being repaired, said a source at the Ngaba prefectural government.
