Dharamsala, March 22 – The Tibetans in Nepal yesterday held a special prayer for former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala who passed away on Saturday at the age of 86.
The prayer was held at Bouddhanath Stupa where one thousand butter lamps were lit to mourn the demise of the longest serving Prime Minister of Nepal.
Thinley Gyatso, head of the Tibetan Reception Centre said that Nepal has lost one of its greatest sons. “He was always kind and generous to all the people, irrespective of their political and religious faith,” he said.
Tibetan exiles also offered their heartfelt condolences to Koirala family and the people of Nepal at the loss of their ‘towering leader’.
