Dharamsala, January 16 – A Tibetan man named Dolma Namgyal who was arrested in 2008 for alleged links with “separatist forces of the Dalai clique” is now learned to have been sentenced to six years’ imprisonment.
Namgyal is the groom of Adupontsang family of Ngaba. His family members and relatives had no information about his whereabouts until January 14, 2010, the day his sentence was passed.
The Emergency Coordination Committee, an internal body set up by Kirti monastery here during the 2008 Tibet protests to disseminate information, said today that Namgyal is currently held in a prison in Binjiang (Spelled as pronounced, actual spelling maybe different) in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.
He was arrested from Chengdu in April, 2008.
