Dharamsala, January 2 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama who left here yesterday will visit Palitana near Bhavnagar in India’s western state of Gujarat. The Tibetan leader will participate in an event at a Jain Mandir in Palitana tomorrow.
His Holiness will then visit Palitana Mobility Camp 2009 organized by Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust where rehabilitation work of about 25,000 handicapped people across all casts, religions and classes is underway, according to Desh Gujarat.
After visit to the camp, His Holiness will interact with Jain monks in special session in which His Holiness will Jainism and Buddhism.
His Holiness will then head for Bodhgaya where he will give five-day teachings on Nagarjuna’s In Praise of the Transcendental (jigten ley depar toepa), Atisha’s Lamp of the Path to Enlightenment (jangchup lamdron), Longchen Rinpoche’s Mind In Comfort and Ease (semnyid nyelso) & Tsongkhapa’s Short Version of the Stages of the Path To Enlightenment (lamrim dhuedhon) from January 5 to 8. On the morning of January 9 His Holiness will confer a Long Life Empowerment (tsewang) and also accept a long life offering from devotees.
His Holiness will then travel to Phuntsok Ling Tibetan settlement in Orissa where a one-day teaching on The Four Empowerments of Guru Pema Thoe Treng Tsel (lama sangdhu thoetreng tsel dhoompo shiwang) will be given.
His Holiness will then participate in an international conference on Buddhism at the Maharaja Sayaji Rao University of Baroda on January 15.
