Dalai Lama to address international conference on Tibetan history and culture

Dharamsala, November 19 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give the valedictory address at a conference on Tibetan history and culture at the Delhi University on Saturday.

Over 40 scholars from various parts of the world are attending the “International Conference: Exploring Tibet’s History and Culture” to explore the scale and magnitude of Tibet’s history and culture, according to a press statement issued by the Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in New Delhi.

The three-day conference will be held from Nov. 19 to 21 at the Academic Council Hall of the University’s Vice Regal Lodge. Dr. Kapila Vatsayayan, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) attended the conference as the chief guest while Prof. Deepak Pental, Vice Chancellor of the University delivered the welcome address.

The conference is jointly organised the University of Delhi and Central University for Tibetan Studies, Varanasi.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give Buddhist teaching on Atisha’s Lamp of the Path To Enlightenment (jangchup lamdron on November 24 and 13-Deity Yamantaka Initiation (lha chusoom jigje kawang on November 25. Russian devotees have requested the initiation and the teaching.
