Dharamsala, November 16: Describing China as India’s biggest enemy, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International President Mr. Ashok Singhal on Sunday reportedly asked India to make effort to free Tibet.
Mr Singhal was addressing media persons at the Press Club of Bangalore, where he appealed to the Indian masses to boycott China made goods in protest against their alleged support to the Maoists.
“China is supplying huge amount of weapons to the Maoists via Burma, Bangladesh, and Nepal,” DNA quoted Singhal as saying.
He called for the use of army and air force to swiftly deal with the insurgency and said the ruling UPA government’s soft approach was responsible for this menace.
“China is the biggest enemy of India and the UPA government is afraid of taking any action against them,” DNA quoted Singhal as saying.
“India should tell China to free Tibet and the Dalai Lama should rule there,” he added.
Singhal charged China with waging a proxy war against India by supplying arms to Maoists, who he described as “anti-national forces” engaged in battle to subvert democracy in the country”.
“Huge amounts of consumer goods from China are being clandestinely brought into the country to flood its markets and this is badly affecting our economy,” PTI quoted Singhal as telling reporters.
“We urge the people of the country to give up buying and using products made in China,” he said.
Singhal alleged that China was supplying arms to Maoists through Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh as it wanted to break India into many pieces.
