China records first swine flu death in Tibet

Dharamsala, Oct 6: China on Tuesday announced its first swine flu death, saying a person in the southwestern region of Tibet had died from the disease.

A brief notice on the website of the Ministry of Health said the person had died on Sunday, but it is not clear whether the victim is an ethnic Tibetan.

“An influenza A (H1N1) sufferer in the region died after efforts to save the sufferer failed,” the notice said, giving no other details on the case or the patient
