Dharamsala, September 16 – Fifteen Tibetan students majoring in political science in various colleges of India are touring Italy arranged under the auspices of the National Democratic Party of Tibet (NDPT). The group of students is escorted by the president of NDPT, Chime Youngdung.
Earlier last week, the President of NDPT Chime Youndung was presented an award by the Italian Nationwide Youth Movement (NWYM). Addressing the award ceremony, the President of NDPT appealed to the Italian people to continue their support towards the Tibetan cause and expressed his gratitude to the people of Italy for their support to the Tibetan cause.
A workshop for the Tibetan students is currently underway in Siena, Italy. Italian Professors give political science education to the Tibetan students. Dr. Lobsang Sangay, a Tibetan law graduate from Harwad University, will also give the students insight into world politics and Tibet’s political status.
A lecture session with noted expert Professor Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche is also on the cards. The students will also perform various Tibetan cultural shows during their stay in Italy. The NDPT and the Tibetan students say they are thankful to the Province of Siena, World Action Tibet, Rigion Toscana, City of Siena and University of Siena, So I would like to thank for the help and support to our cause for facilitating the tour and the workshop.
The fifteen students were selected through a written test and interview.
