Dharamsala, Dec. 5 – His Holiness the Dalai Lama said the struggle over Tibet can be resolved “within a few days” if China becomes a more open society.
He said, “if the Chinese leaders use common sense and realistic approach, or face the reality, then there is possibility to find a solution with the totalitarian regime.”
His Holiness was speaking today to a youth group participating in an event marking 25 years of conferment of Nobel peace prize on Lech Walesa, former Solidarity leader and President of Poland.
When democracy takes root in China, including the rule of law and freedom of the press, the issue of Tibet will be solved in a few days, His Holiness said today.
But the Tibetan leader also said, “it is not in our hands … I can just hope.”
