New Delhi, October 7 — The Dalai Lama, who underwent a medical examination Tuesday here, was declared fit by doctors, his spokesman said.
“The tests were done in the afternoon. Doctors are saying that there’s nothing wrong,” Chhime R. Chhoekyapa, private secretary of the 73 year old Tibetan leader, was quoted by AFP. Chhime added it was a routine follow-up appointment.
“There was no abdominal discomfort this time. This was a follow-up check,”Tenzin Namdak Taklha of the Dalai Lama’s private office told AP.
The Dalai Lama will return Thursday to his north Indian home in Dharamshala, the headquarters of the exile Tibetan government.
