New Delhi, Sept 8 – A small group of nine Tibetans were arrested in an attempt to protest outside Taj Mansingh Hotel, New Delhi where Yang Jiechi, the Chinese Foreign Minister was in a meeting with Indian leaders. The protesters who came from different directions were in even smaller fractions of four, two and three. They were all picked up by Indian security officials guarding the venue within minutes.
Yang Jiechi is reported to have landed at the New Delhi terminal shortly after two in the afternoon and according to sources is staying at Hotel Taj Palace.
The nine activists of the Tibetan Youth Congress are being detained at Tughlakabad police station in New Delhi.
