New York, August 7 – A speculation about the death of one of the six hunger strikers has been doing rounds in the Tibetan circles through text messages and other means of communication. However, it turned out to be a rumor.

Dhondup Dorjee, Vice President of the Tibetan Youth Congress, told phayul that none of the six Tibetans who sat on hunger strike without food and water for nine days had died. He further added that all of them are responding positively to the medical care, and their condition is improving.

The rumor is believed to have originated in form of a text message from either Dharamsala or Delhi.
