Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation Conclude Russia Visit

Dharamshala, June 28 – A delegation of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) comprised of five members headed by the speaker, visited Russia at the invitation of the Buddhist Association of Kalmykia.

Tibetan Parliament members in the delegation included Juchen Kunchok, Kelsang Gyaltsen, Dorjee Wangdi and Ven. Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok.

Representative Tashi received the TPiE delegation at the Moscow International Airport Sheremetyevo on 19 June.

On the same day, the delegation visited the Office of Tibet and met with the Tibetan people living in Russia.

On the second day, Mukabenova Marina, member of State Duma, Russian Parliament, called on them for a meeting at Kalmyk representative office.

The delegation attended a press conference on ‘Tibetan Problem from Inside Vision’ organised by the Moscow-based Helsinki Human Rights Group, at Independent Press Centre. Alekseeva Ludmila, chairwoman of the Helsinki Human Rights Group, chaired the conference.

Later in the day, the delegation gave a radio interview to Echo Moscow.

On the concluding day, they attended the premiere of Oktyabera, a film based on His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

On the same day, the TPiE delegation left Moscow for Kalmyk Republic for a three-day visit.
