New Delhi: June 13: Music teacher by profession, Mr. Dorjee Tsering has begun performing his Mudrel Tibetan music for 48 hours at Jantar Mandar, New Delhi for the cause of Tibet.
Few Indian supporters from the Tibet Support Core Group, members of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress-Delhi and the Refugee Tibetan Settlement officer, Delhi attended the opening ceremony to show their solidarity.
Before starting with his musical performance, Mr Dorjee thanked the Central Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA), Regional TWA-Delhi, and Indo-Tibet Coordinator (ITCO) for supporting his campaign.
His Mudrel Tibetan Music has come up with an appeal letter in which he calls on China to follow a set of demands.
TWA spokesperson, Ms. Tsering Deckyi said that henceforth this singing performance would be an annual event until Tibet’s issue is meaningfully resolved.
Mr Dorjee is a music teacher from Tibetan Children’s Village School, Selakui, Dehradun in Northern India.
Following is the full text of Dorjee Tsering’s appeal letter to the Chinese Government
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Nobel Peace Laureate has been working hard to resolve the Tibetan issues peacefully through the middle path approach for long time but there has been no sign of positive result and response from the Chinese government. So, on this 48th anniversary of the inception of Tibetan exile govt. in India, Müdrel Tibetan Music hereby performs 48 hours Tibetan music to appeal the Chinese government peacefully to consider the following points.
I undersigned would like to respectfully urge
1. To negotiate with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in resolving the Tibetan issue through his Middle way approach without any pre-condition.
2. To let His Holiness the Dalai Lama visit important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Tibet and China and to let him meet with the 6 million Tibetans inside Tibet.
3. To release all the Tibetan political prisoners held in Chinese gulags for struggling for freedom of speech and basic human rights in Tibet.
4. To let Tibetan musicians and singers express their thoughts and feelings freely in their songs and lyrics.
