LONDON – Central China Goldfields PLC said the first results from early drilling at the Tinggong exploration licence area in the Nimu copper project in Tibet are ‘encouraging’ and demonstrate the presence of porphyry copper-molybdenum mineralisation.
The scout drilling programme of up to 3,000 metre, which is continuing this summer, is designed to test the identified porphyry copper-molybdenum targets and further results are expected in June/July.
Managing director Jeff Malaihollo said the the first drilling results at Tinggong confirm the company is in the right geological area.
‘We will continue to drill test targets in the Tinggong area and other Nimu areas in search of supergene copper enrichment and sweet spots of mineralisation,’ he added.
