March for Tibet’s independence to take place from New York City to Philadelphia

New York: April 30: A week long “2007 March for Tibet’s independence” to be held towards the end of June this year has been announced by the International Tibet Independence Movement (ITIM), which is coordinating the protest walk.

The march is scheduled to begin on June 27 at China’s Consulate in New York City and will conclude on July 4 at the Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The conclusion of the march coincides with the celebration of US Independence Day.

According to ITIM; Tibetan organisations in New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia will be actively involved in the planning and implementation of this walk and, more information about the march is to be made available in the coming weeks.
