31 TYC activists who stormed the Chinese Embassy on the 48th Annevesarry of Tibetan National Uprising Day were arrested by the Chanakyapuri Police Station. After the routine check up at the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, all the arrested members were produced before the Special Executive Magistrate Court at Parliament Street. TYC members were booked U/S: 107/151 Cr Pc by the Magistrate Court and issued a Jail Warrant against all the members, and asked them to be produced before the Magistrate Court on 23rd March, 2007. After fourteen days in Tihar Jial, all the 28 members will be re produced before the court and the magistrate will take a final verdict after all the inquiries.

Three members were released under special considerations by the concerned Police Officials and Magistrate Office. They were namely, Mr Bhuma lak from Rtyc Mussoorie, who is 78 years old, Ms Yangzom lak (only Woman participant) from rtyc dharamsala and Kusho Jigme Kocha (Rtyc dharamsala) who is still under medications in Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. All the three members protested against their release and appealed to be sent to Tihar Jail with the rest of members. These have really surprised the Police officials and staffs of Special Executive Magistrate Court. Ms Yangzom stated “I came down to be arrested and will not leave the rest of members. I appreciate authorities decision but I am ready to face any difficulties in the Jail”.

Kusho Jigme Kocha who went unconcious and collapsed after a scuffle with several Police forces was taken immediately to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital by the Chanakyapuri police station and addmited there for medications. When Mr Dhondup Dorjee (Information Secretary) of TYC met Jigme Kocha lak at the Hospital, he took out a Chinese National Flag from his pocket with the smell of gasoline on it and handed over in deep regret for not able to ablaze it due to heavy security. His condition is getting better but still has some minor headache and couldn’t stand up on his feet. The doctors advised him to remain some more days in the hospital under medications. Kusho Jigme Kocha lak was an ex political prisoner and was sentenced for more than 2 years in Drapchi Prison for carrying Tibetan National Flags, documents, and pictures of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Panchen Rinpoche.

On 12th morning, TYC Information Secretary and Members of RTYC Rohini met the detained Members at Tihar Jial with fruits and foodstuffs. Mr Nawang Lobsang, General Secretary of RTYC Dharamsla who led the demonstrators requested on behalf of all the arrested members not to release them under bail plea. If China wants the struggle of the Tibetans to be a ‘fight till death’ – TYC welcomes it. TYC welcomes it with the faith that if and when required Tibetans everywhere are willing to face death in the struggle for our nation. TYC welcomes it with the strong conviction that there is no death to truth, that truth of Tibetan independence will triumph.
