ALL MONKS PEACE MARCH FOR A FREE TIBET : 3RD TO 10TH March 2007.

ALL MONKS PEACE MARCH FOR A FREE TIBET led by Sera Monks started on 3rd March in the Cultural capital of Karnataka State is now on its final lag of March nearing Bangalore. Throughout the March, the local Indian people and the travelers alike showed tremendous interest and solidarity with the peace marchers by providing all possible help and showing genuine concern about the deteriorating situation inside Tibet and India’s national security and environment due to increased harmful activities by the Chinese by using Tibetan soil.

The March will conclude in Bangalore coinciding with special commemoration events the biggest ever marking the 48th TIBETAN NATIONAL UPRISING DAY. Tibetan NGOs from all the southern settlements, representatives of local Tibetan bodies, large number of college students, Indian supporters, resident Tibetans, including the peace March participant monks and their leaders will take part in commemorative events. Mass rally for Free Tibet, Speeches by prominent Tibetan and Indian leaders, Press Conference and FREE TIBET procession are the highlights of the events marking the 48th Anniversary of the 1959 popular Tibetan People’s National Uprising against the communist China’s illegal occupation of Tibet.

Over 150 voluntary monks mostly from Sera Monastery of Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement started the Peace March on 3rd March on their way to Bangalore city to commemorate the 48th Tibetan National Uprising day and to highlight Chinese oppression in Tibet and to seek global support for the Tibetan freedom struggle.

The march is supported by the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association and Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of Bylakuppe and Mysore. Two representatives from TWA Bylakuppe and RTYC Mysore also accompany the Marchers for general support and guidance.
