Dharamsala, February 23 – Losar, the Tibetan New Year, was the target and the treat was a music mantra in the form of the biggest Tibetan concerts in Delhi, Dharamsala and Dekyiling which is first of its kind. After the grant success of the show in Delhi on the very first day of the Losar, the group also does not disappoint the Dharamsala peoples in collaboration with Tibetan Youth Congress.
The well-thought out program began with a TYC award to Chief Guest Political prisoner Phunstok Nyimdol la from our chairman of member of parliament followed by the prescreening Richard Gere is my Hero from Tibet Motion Picture director Mr Tashi Wangchuk.
The most exiled Tibetan singers and The Yak band congregated for the one-day concert on 21 February 2007. But show got cancelled in-between due to the heavy rain and next day show continue free of cost.
10000 watts of music blasted the TIPA ground of Dharamsala and the big fire show during the event to make it more colourful.
The Yak Band from Kalimpong lent the rock touch to the concert, while the lead guitarist of the Kalimpong Nomads presented some mastery guitar pieces stunning everyone with Rangzen acts and Final Count Down.
The concert was mostly dominated by Tibetan pop musics. The festival also signifies the revival of The Yak Band comprised of youths whose talents in Tibetan Musics has recieved appreciation from all corners. Such events create a platform for the artist to exhibit their talents which in turn brings revolution in the Tibetan songs and musics. Besides it generates interest among youth and brings closer bond among Tibetan artists.
Pempa Tsering and Kharak Penpa was among the most favourites. Both stunned the audience with best of the number from their respective albums.
Other Artist include, Khenno presented a specially-composed fusion song to pay tribute to his Tsawai Lama for its unmatched assistance, while Tenzin Silnon enthralled the approximate 4000 crowd gathered during the show by his Tashi Delek from his album.
Among the younger and new face artistes Thokmey (Dream), Sonam Dhundup and chodak got chance to showcase there talent.
Finally, Musical troops left for there final show in Dekyiling settlement, program scheduled on 24th of February 2007.
