During the relay of the radio interview a panel discussion was also held with the participation of three journalists, including the one who visited Dharamshala.

The programme also highlighted comments of various people in the streets of Russia on His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Out of 300 people whose opinions were solicited, 84.4% had expressed their wish for His Holiness to be the head of the Russian Federation.

On 3 and 5 January 2007 the Russian channel TVC relayed a detailed interview of His Holiness in which he conveyed best wishes and greetings to the people of Russia on the occasion of the New Year.

In Kalmykia, the local mass media covered a wide range of issues relating to Tibet, its culture, philosophy, the historical relationship between Tibet and Kalmykia and the present good relations between the two.
