International Music Network (IMN) is pleased to announce that The Gyuto Monks Tantric Choir return to the USA for the first time in six (6) years to perform religious concerts confirmed with major universities and theaters in the US from February 9, 2007 through May 15, 2007.
Representing a rich Buddhist tradition founded in 15th-century Tibet, the monks of the Gyuto Tantric Monastic University have been chanting in their multi-tonal style since the university’s founding in 1474. Their liturgical arts among the most complex and awe-inspiring in Tibetan Buddhism have developed over the centuries.
The tour is to benefit the Gyuto Vajrayana Center’s plan for building a traditional monastic educational facility in San Jose, California as well as to support the Gyuto Monastery’s medical facilities for the monks in Dharamsala, India.
