Human Rights Day in Warsaw

Participants of workshops for young leaders of pro-Tibetan movement organized on Human Rights Day in Warsaw, declared engagement in educational and grassroots organizing activities for Free Tibet in Poland.

First ever workshops session for young pro-Tibetan activists, held by newly created Tibetan Programme of The Other Space Foundation together with The Polish-Tibetan Friendship Association concluded successfully today. 20 participants from over 10 big and smaller cities in Poland, representing different non-governmental organizations, met in Warsaw on 9th and 10th December.

“It is first-ever group of young leaders prepared to undertake pro-Tibetan activities in their own communities. I believe that all participants will develop our Programme what will help to improve Tibetan movement in Poland,” said Piotr Cykowski, who organized session.

Workshops were led by activists of Polish TSGs as well as Tibetan and educational experts. Session was a part of a bigger project “Development education for Tibet” run by Tibetan Programme of The Other Space Foundation. Our next project includes organizing series of workshops for student activist to develop grassroots campaign skills as a preparation before 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
