The Free Asia high level International conference was held graciously on 24th and successfully ended on 25th of November 2006. It was organised by seven dedicated organizations mainly from Bolzano. Association Italia-Tibet was one of the organizers to this event.
The event also saw the contributions and the concrete collaborations from various Italian organizations who are actively involved in the humanitarian works in many of the Asian countries and specially in those countries where the rights of the women are still suppressed despite the guaranties and the clear declarations in the high constitutions in their respective countries.The several great Asian female speakers were invited to this event from various Asian countries who are seriously involved in projects for the suppressed women at different levels in their respective countries to discuss in details the problems of the Asian women, the possible hopes and eventually, the proposed undergoing effective solutions to empower the status of women at local levels and within the community itself. Thus could claim equal rights and equal role in their different walks of life.
Each and every speaker shared unstintingly in wide ranges topics from gender discrimination to inequality apparently in social structures and lact of transparency in many forms from Indonesia through Burma (Myanmar) to India which surprisingly intrigued the audiences quite often. I am sure the audience and I personally, owing to my ignorance faced the unimaginable incidents told. We human beings are solely responsible for creating the complexity and the worst irreversible destructions underway. It naturally makes me feel like sharing to the readers the saying of one simple Italian naturalist “The world would have been beautiful without the human beings”.
The speakers touched and meticulously placed on the table the possible remedies if we humans reflect by fortune in time. It was a huge experience for everyone present there for really a short period of time. The fission and the fusion of the informations felt beyond the walls.
The invited Tibetan women speaker Mrs Gyari Dolma, Vice chairperson of Tibetan parliament (exile) had a different say to this event though was immensely touched by the agenda raised by her counterparts.
Mrs Gyari Dolma la said “ For we Tibetan women, the rights of women are luxuries and we Tibetan women hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder with the Tibetan men are fighting against the Chinese regime for the just cause ie; Tibetan cause” . She profoundly put forward the Tibetan case of huge destructions environmentally during and after the Chinese invasion of Tibet and its undergoing consequences. Tortures and the unjust sentences to the Tibetan political prisoners and at all the times, imprisoning the innocent Tibetans for simply possessing the photo of the His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet. In the end, she wholeheartedly requested the audience by saying “ please help us , please don’t leave us in a midway, our cause is the just cause and the truth is the only weapon we have and please continue to help us until freedom is restored in Tibet and thus its rich culture can be perpetuated”.
Well, SFT(students for a free tibet) as always, its omni presence everywhere in the world frustrates the Chinese regime effectively either silently or publicly in the case of “ Chalo Delhi campaign” against the recent maiden visit of the Chinese president,Hu Jintao to India.
SFT Italia strikingly raised the tragic incident of the “Nangpa la shootings” together with the Italia-Tibet association and its President Mr.Günter Cologna by showing the video of the incident shot by PRO Romanian TV and hard experiences of the mountaineers happened to be nearby at a distance of several hundred metres. SFT Italia as always with the Italia-Tibet Association right from the beginning of the conferences till the end, collected signatures for the signed Petition to the Italian external minister and of course to the president of the European commission to pressure the Chinese regime to immediately release the innocent detainees arrested on the Nangpa la pass by the Chinese border guard police. The Chinese border guard police as narrated in the video were found relaxed smoking few metres away from the incident because for them is yet another successful mission and inhumanely left the dead body they shot unattended for nearly 43 hours.
Ms Violaine Jaussaud from SFT France who was present throughout the conference said “I am happy and satisfied to be here in Bolzano to extend my helping hand to the SFT Italia and learned a lot during my short visit and feel worthwhile travelling all the way to Bolzano Bozen”.
Asian buffets were served at intervals throughout the event and to close up the event, additional buffets were served with the Asian music instruments played by the professionals invited which lasted for few hours upto to the expectations of the learned audiences.
