New Delhi, November 19 – Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) chief Rajnath Singh has raised objection and was irked by Chinese President’s visit to India on November 20.
“It’s a day when China announced a ceasefire in 1962 as if it was a great favor to India. He (Hu) should come here on some other day,” Rajnath Singh said.
The BJP had earlier flayed the Chinese ambassador for his recent remarks over his countries claims over Arunachal Pradesh, a northeastern state of India.
Meanwhile, ‘Friends of Tibet’ organization is preparing for nationwide protests other than the protests it had announced previously in New Delhi and Bombay and an SMS campaign in Aligarh.
It said in its statement faxed and emailed to media that ‘Friends of Tibet’ is organizing peaceful protests in New Delhi and Bombay during Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to India.
Nationwide protest are also being planned by Tibetan organizations and Tibet support groups to protest the illegal occupation of Tibet and the recent statement made by Sun Yuxi, Chinese ambassador to India on Arunachal Pradesh, it said in the statement.
It has invited several activist movements and parties to join them in protest on Monday, November 20 from 11 a.m. in New Delhi.
In Mumbai members of Friends of Tibet (Bombay) and the United Tibetan Association of Maharashtra and Gujrat will hold a one-day fast at the Azad Square from 10 a.m., it said.
The organization also initiating an online petition campaign for a resolution of the Tibetan issue to be sent to the visiting Chinese president through the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi.
The Tibetans in India are refugees who blame the Chinese communist government for its repressive policies and religious segregation in Tibet.
It is to be mentioned that it is the first ever visit by the Chinese president to India.
