Dharamsala: A National Conference on Tibet has been organized here in the school ground of Lower Tibetan Children’s Village School by the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch assisted by prominent Tibetan NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisation) here today.
The conference, held from 2:30 to 5 PM here, was graced by the presence of the Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) Chief K. Sudharshan, and the former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh P. K. Dhumal.
The conference is organized to focus and integrate into action realizing the need to create awareness of the issue of Tibet among Indian masses and garner in their support for the Tibetan freedom struggle.
The conference attended by Tibetans and local Indian friends include members representing various Tibet support groups and Tibetan NGOs.
Speaking at the conference, the leaders from both the community agreed on the notion that resolving the issue of Tibet in a meaningful way with China can be in the best interest of India in many ways and that the support of Indian Government and its people can be most instrumental in realizing the goal.
Earlier on the day, the RSS chief, K Sudarshan, met Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at his residence based here in Mcleod ganj, Dharamsala.
