Successful Urgent Protest Action Campaign via SMS, and Vigil held in Oslo

Amnesty International Norway and Norwegian Tibet Committee launched an urgent protest SMS protest campaign to the Chinese government and to the Chinese embassy in Norway on 23 October. Protest campaign via SMS was started one hour before the vigil outside of the Norwegian parliament, within a hour there was 10.000 SMS send to the Chinese government and till now there has been send 15.000 SMS from the Norwegian public. This campaign will continue for some time.

Candle light vigil started with pray by Tibetan Lama Kartok Rinpochi, followed by appeal from amnesty international Norway Mr Gerald Kador Folkvord, parliamentarian Mr Olav Gunner Ballo and concluded with emotional speech by Mr Arved Johansen, one of the climber who witness the shooting at Nagpa La.
