Interrogation raised at foreign affairs ministry regarding the recent shooting of innocent Tibetan by Chinese soldier at Nangpa La Pass.
TODAY during the question-answer session at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, a question was raised by deputies Bruno Mellano and Sergio D’Elia of Radical Party ( Radicali della Rosa Nel Pugno) concerning the tragic event of death of innocent Tibetan refugee fleeing occupied Tibet to Nepal.
About the case the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry Gianni Vernetti responded that “….Our Government is in current of the reports raised by the interrogators but we are not at disposal of the direct element of the facts..” , that we have already given “instruction to our embassy of the area to acquire in loco of further information and with our Community Partners we are evaluating a possiblity of incharging President of EU to raise the the question with counterpart Chinese at forthcoming dialouge between EU and China regarding Human Rights at Beiging 19-20 october 2006…”
Bruno Mellano has declared :
“ The new and singularity about the tragic event which we denounced firmly by raising question here, lies in existence of documentation of video recording shown in many Western TV news and internet website. This makes inadequate and burocratic the response from the Italian government : the standpoint from EU may be crucial in Institutional place but meanwhile we have assisted to a true and nude “hit at Target” from Chinese soldier to a line of innocent Tibetan in the Himalayan snow. I reminded that country like Canada has expressed their strong condemn for what has occurred from the Foreign Affiars Minister Peter Mackay himself. I have expected that my country would have done the same.”
Saturday 21 october Milan. Tibetan community in Italy will preside a manifestation in cooperation with many TSG to denounce and condemn strongly against the recent Barbaric killings of Tibetan by Chinese soldier. Manifestation will be in front of Chinese consulate in Milan. Deputy Bruno Mellano will join the protest to show his full support for the Tibet cause.
