Chandigarh- The Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement today staged the candle light vigil to pay homage to the martyrs of the Tibetan Freedom Struggle, through silent protests. The Candle Light Vigil was joined by the entire strength of Tibetan students studying in various educational institutions and was well supported by foreign and Indian students. This time sweater sellers from Zirakpur and Mohali also joined the movement. The demonstration started from Punjab University, passing through the Sector 15, 16, 22 and finally got culminated in Sector 17 Plaza. The students were bearing the anti Chinese placards and raising the slogans against the Chinese regime. On reaching Plaza, the protesters observed the two minutes silence in the memory of their martyrs.
The recent inhuman behaviour of Chinese Army shooting of unarmed innocent Tibetan who tried to escape from Tibet into neighboring Nepal leads to this pretest. Chinese force opened fire on people and killing of 17 years old Nun, up to 5 more Tibetan are feared death of open firing of the soldier stationed at the Nangpa La pass between Tibet and Nepal made fire on the caravan of more than 70 escaping Tibetan, which included children as young as seven. The news first broke on the popular mountaineering website www.mounteverest.net foreign mountaineers at the near by Cho Oyu advance base camp witness the incident of fired repeatedly on the defenseless Tibetans, forty three people from the group have successfully crossed into Nepal and have now reach the united nation sponsored Tibetan refugee reception centre in Kathmandu. The fate of the other Tibetan, including atleast 14 children remain unknown. There is concern that many of them may have been injured during the shooting and apprehended by the security force.
The open shooting and killing of the Tibetan show the true nature of China brutal rule and imperialist design to insignificant of human right. As China is worst record of human right deprivation and invasion of other territories as every year thousand of Tibetans attempt to escape from Tibet to seek freedom of education in Tibetan culture and Buddhist studies. Because there is no freedom of education and anything in Tibet so that why they risk their life to cross over into Nepal and India.
