Dharamshala, October 17 – Kalon Tripa, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, yesterday released the Tibetan version of a book titled A Tibetan Revolutionary, launched by the Tibet Times.

A Tibetan Revolutionary is a biography of a renowned Tibetan revolutionary and philosopher, Bapa Phuntso Wangye (known as Phunwang), written by Prof. Melvyn C. Goldstein.

Appreciating Tibet Times for bringing the Tibetan version of the book, Kalon Tripa said their work could contribute a lot in advocating the Tibetan issue both in short term and long term.

“This book is more than a story of Phunwang”, Kalon Tripa added.

Kalon Tripa said that he is a great 20th century Tibetan scholar. His book “Liquid Water Does Exist on the Moon” is a testimony of his philosophical work.

His individual experiences in the book provide a powerful spotlight on the nature of the Tibet Question.

Prof. Goldstein mentioned in his book ” Phunwang’s life convey powerful insights into the Tibetan Question from someone within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)”.

Phunwang dedicated his life to create a socialist Tibet. To achieve this he worked first through the Tibetan Communist Party and then through the CCP, in which he was a leading Tibetan cadre in Tibet form 1951-1958. But he failed and ended up spending 18 years in solitary confinement in prison.
