On 25th August 2006, there was a report from the news desk of Tibetan Review which states, ‘European ‘Tibetan delegation’ in China riles Tibetan exiles’. According to the report, the European Tibetan delegation group was on a 10-day visit beginning July 23rd in Beijing.

What riles a particular section of Tibetans in exile was a report that Jul 28 carried on the website of China’s official China Central Television (CCTV)-as well as in many other official Chinese newspapers, radio broadcasts and websites from Jul 25 to 28-which said that Swiss-based “living Buddhas” Koondhor Jewon Tulku and Khanang Jam-yang Ten-pen-yima, who led the delegation, had expressed support for China’s unity and determination to fight against Tibetan separatism during their meeting with officials from the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China. The website of the United Front Department (www.zytzb.cn) carried a photo of the meeting.

But the groud reality is something else. Chinese are making efforts to raise various standards of works to propagandize Tibet abroad as well as within our own people. In the earlier report, Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) which is dedicated to fighting for Tibet’s complete independence questioned the delegates to clarify whether the CCTV report of Jul 28 saying they had expressed determination to fight Tibetan separatism and praised the Qinghai-Tibet Railway project as being a great boost for their confidence in Tibet’s future were true.

So, when the representatives of Tibetan Community in Switzerland & Liechtenstein requested Koondhor Jewon Tulku and Khanang Jam-yang Ten-pen-yima the clarification on the news reports about their visit to Beijing as European Tibetan Delagates, they confirmed that the pilgrimage to Beijing and Tibet was purely private and not undertaken under the name of “Delagations of Tibetans in Europe”.

However, on 25th Spetember, Mrs Tsamla whose name was among the other many delagates who visited Beijing according to sources within the exile Tibetan community told VOT that it has been misinformed. She further told VOT that she had visited Tibet on her personal ground for which Beijing was a passage to reach Tibet. She spent only 2-3 hours at the Beijing airport and left for Tibet. Moreover she has sent all the required documents and passport photocopies which confirms her visit to Tibet nor to Beijing to all the Tibetans medias within the Tibetan community.

Mr. Phuntsok Tsering, husband of Tsamla who was also associated with the European Tibetan delagates to visit Beijing completely denies the information sourced in the earlier report. He was totally unaware and ignorant about the visit to Beijing and have always been a true Tibetan citizen to the core which disallow him to do or say anything against the wishes of Tibetan people, Phuntsok Tsering told VOT.

The Chinese government is fundamentally insecure because they know that Tibetans do not want to be a part of China, and never will. They are worried about the power of Tibetans in exile as well as the strong support for the Tibetan cause amongst people all over the world. Therefore they try to unfold groundless reasons to stir up the Tibetans among themselves inorder to bring about disarray and chaos.

Chinese are actually using these propaganda strategies to mislead the Tibetans and hence cite baseless reasons such as the European Tibetan delegates supporting China’s unity and determination to fight against seperatism.

Chinese being aware of the fact that Tibetans place their trust in His Holiness the Dalai Lama and that His Holiness has act as the free spokeperson of the Tibetans in their struggle for justice, they will never want this to continue. Chinese labels His Holiness the Dalai Lama as not only a mere religious figure but a political exile who has engaged in splittist activities and hurt national identity and they are resolutely opposed to any kind of offerings and recognitions to His Holiness from any country. Therefore China has always tried to bring up such informations which might act as an hindrance for the Tibetans in their struggle.

But we must not be easily disheartened or shaken with all the critics of lies, prejudices and propaganda from these few Chinese autocrats. Our hold on our struggle should be firm and rigid and Chinese attempt to act generous towards the Tibetans with these lies, prejudices and propagandas cannnot shudder the loyalty and faith that Tibetans have in their people and His Holiness.
