Chinese “religious delegation” from Tibet visit Norway

A Chinese “religious delegation” from Tibet which recently visited Belgium is to arrive the Norwegian capital of Oslo today. The Chinese embassy here in Oslo has requested the Buddhist Union of Norway to be their host during the delegation’s visit in Oslo from 15 to 19 September and to make a programme for the delegation to visit the Karma Tashiling Tibetan Buddhist Center One of the members of this delegation Khadi Losang Champa, who is said to be the abbot of Dargye Monastery “in Garze County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province” is to give a religious talk at the Karma Tashiling Buddhist Center on 16 September.

According to our information, the other Tibetan member of the delegation sent by the Chinese authorities is Tsering Gyalpo (Ciren Jiabu in Chinese), who is designated as “Director of Religious Research Institute of the Tibet Autonomous Region Academy of Social Sciences, Lhasa, PRC”.

They will also visit Vietnamese Buddhist Temple and Thai Buddhist Temple in Oslo.
