Dharamshala, August 8 – Establishing a new tradition, the senior civil servants, above the rank of Joint Secretary of the Central Tibetan Administration, will tomorrow host a gala farewell dinner for the incumbent Kashag, with its term expiring on 4 September.
After winning the final round of elections with an overwhelming majority of nearly 91 percent, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche will begin his second, successive term as the Kalon Tripa from 15 August.
All the Kalons nominated by the Kalon Tripa should be approved by the Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies, which will hold its next session only from 30 September.
