Wu Tawei, vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China is scheduled to arrive kathmandu, capital of Nepal on July 27, leading a 10-member high-level delegation on a three-day visit, a report on Kantipur Daily said July 25.
The report said senior officials of the Government of the People’s Republic of China were visiting Nepal to discuss ways to assist in the political transformation that took place in the country recently and the peace process initiated by the new government.
Nepal’s Gorkhapatra daily in a July 24 report said the Chinese delegation was scheduled to carry out separate meetings with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat to discuss on various issues of bilateral interest and mutual concern. It quoted high level governmnet source as saying that the delegation had agreed to provide some loan assistance to Nepal in course of the visit.
Citing Chief of Political and Press Section of Chinese Embassy Wu Qingjun, the Gorkahpatra report said agreements related to financial and technological cooperation between Nepal and China will take place during the visit.The high level Chinese delegation will also meet senior leaders of major political parties of Nepal.
This is the first instance that high-level Chinese Officials are visiting Nepal following the latest political changes.
