Brussels, July 11 : In honour of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 71st Birthday celebration, the Bureau du Tibet, Brussels (EU Co-ordination Office) hosted a reception at the prestigious Concert Noble on July 10. The reception was attended by about 120 dignitaries including some diplomatic corps from different embassies, members of the European Parliament, staff members from the European Commission, European Council, Belgian Parliament and government, Tibet supporters and the Tibetan Community leaders.
Ms. Tenzin Wangmo Dunchu, Coordinator of Bureau du Tibet, Brussels welcomed the guests to the reception after which the ceremony started with long life prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama, led by Venerable Lama Karta, Spiritual Director of Yeunten Ling who was accompanied by eight visiting Lamas from abroad.
Mr. Jampal Chosang, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama thanked all the participants for their interest and support for the Tibetan cause and highlighted His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s unequivocal role as the unifying force in the Tibetan people’s struggle for their legitimate cause
At the reception held at the capital of the European Union, the importance of EU’s support specially the members of the EP Tibet Intergroup was very much emphasized.
