The marchers who took part in the recently-concluded “March for Tibet’s Independence” visited 21 U.S. congressional offices in Washington, D.C. to encourage members of the House of Representatives to award His Holiness The Dalai Lama the gold medal.
This visit was arranged by the International Campaign for Tibet in collaboration with the International Tibet Independence Movement. The walkers spent over 5 hours on capitol hill. Four members of Congress agreed, on the spot, to support the bill. The walkers were quite happy with this response and felt empowered by this experience.
